Art is not just something we look at or admire. Art touches an individuals inner emotions and thoughts while also being an influencing force for change all over the world. Art comes in many different forms. Many people think of art as sculptures or paintings but it is actually much more then that. Art can be in forms of religion or politics or landscaping or published pieces of work. Many of these different forms of art are some of the types that change the world the most.

We look at different types of art throughout history that has influenced the world around us. For example the Martin Luther King picture was one that showed equality and a hope for peace. That art in particular touched the hearts of everyone and become a nationwide piece of art that society will remember forever. So can art change the world? I believe so if you look at every type of art and see what types of artwork has affected our history and what types will affect us going forward.

1.  Red Plum by Thomas Downing      This sculpture is a piece of artwork which I believe is trying to convey a picnic or fruit of some sort. I believe each different circle represents a different fruit. I was least interested in this painting out of all my featured ones that I saw at the BMA. Colors- Christian Flood

Throughout this podcast the speaker discusses the different types of colors are in the world and how different individuals or animals can see things differently and how. My favorite part of the podcast was when I learned how butterflies, humans and birds can all see different colors but all of the species are looking at the same thing. I also found it very interesting when the ancient Greeks were believed to not be able to see the color blue. Although many things around the world have the blue color for some reason these greeks were restricted. Finally I found it very cool how shrimp have the ability to see way more colors and light then any other specie and they are just so small it seems almost impossible. The one thing I don't understand is how humans don't have access to see different colors that these small creatures are.

Post Modernism- Christian Flood

In the Post Modernism article it talks about different works of art post modernism and then continues to tell us what factors helped advance works of art during this time period. Many works of art were becoming more advanced due to modernism and industrialization that was also happening in the world. Tools got more advanced and there was a lot more artwork being made and sold. The biggest influences in this pre modernism era was music and commercializing. Many artists had opportunities to create master pieces during this time due to high revenue intakes and the amount of people wanting to buy artwork for decoration or collection. Finally the reason why art was flourishing was because of all the outside factors affecting it which gave them more options to work with and chose the right works based off of what people want in the world today.
